Chlor-alkali and chlorate cells

Efficient electrochemical cells for stable chlorine and chlorate production.

Chlor-alkali and Chlorate cells

Advanced electrochemical cell components designed for chlor-alkali and chlorate processes, where efficiency, durability, and process stability are critical.

Based on titanium and nickel substrates with proprietary catalytic coatings, anodes and cathodes enable reliable chlorine and hydrogen evolution and long service life in highly corrosive environments. Optimized cell design and electrode geometry reduce voltage losses and energy consumption.

The result is a robust, long-life cell solution that delivers stable operation, high current efficiency, and lower total operating cost.

Why chlor-alkali and chlorate cells?

  • Stable process performance
  • High current efficiency
  • Long operational lifetime
  • Low energy consumption

How it works

The electrochemical cell consists of titanium-based anodes and corresponding cathodes designed for chlor-alkali and chlorate reactions. When current is applied, chlorine is generated at the anode while hydrogen is produced at the cathode.

Elicron’s catalytic coatings enable efficient electrochemical reactions while resisting corrosion, ensuring stable performance and predictable process conditions over time.
